The next BNB u3a Annual General Meeting is scheduled 13:45 for 14:00 on Tuesday 20th October 2026, at the usual venue, Bulkington Village Community Centre (BVCC)
We will be having an informal Quiz time this month, after the AGM.
The AGM is our annual business meeting where we review the past year and elect members to our Committee, so it is important that as many members as possible plan to attend. If you cannot attend and wish to put your apologies on record, please contact the BNB u3a secretary at sue@u3anuneaton.org.uk .
This year the AGM is particularly important due to the business to be covered, so we hope as many as possible will attend.

We remain committed to supporting and developing our Interest Groups and Monthly Meetings, and to continuing to grow both our membership and the range of activities available. This year we do have an important challenge, as there are currently two vacancies arising on the Committee. Sue Quittenton and Paul Davis have served on the Committee for some years and have reached the limit of their terms of service as specified in the Constitution, so they are stepping down for now. They will continue to support the Committee with their specialist knowledge and experience. Maintaining a full Committee is essential for us to operate effectively, and while this is a responsibility we take seriously, it also presents a positive opportunity for members to become more involved in shaping the future of BNBu3a. It is also a legal requirement as specified in our Constitution to have at least 5 members on the Committee, and if we do not comply, we could have to close the organisation, or consider a merger with another u3a.
Being on the Committee is not onerous and only requires a limited amount of time, while offering a valuable way to contribute to the ongoing success of our organisation. We would warmly encourage you to consider volunteering.
If you would like to volunteer to join our Committee please use the form in the link below and send it to Sue Q, at sue@u3anuneaton.org.uk or give it to your Group Leader by 19th October at the latest. Alternatively, if you can phone and give your details, we can complete a form for you to be signed at the AGM. You will need a ‘Proposer’ and a ‘Seconder’ to support your application.
We will also give an opportunity for last-minute nominations during the AGM.
